Equipment

  • 1 Baking dish

Ingredients

  • 1 wheel of Brie around 200g
  • 3 fresh figs quartered
  • 2 tbs walnuts roughly chopped
  • 12 tsp honey to taste
  • a few sprigs of fresh thyme
  • crackers or crusty bread to serve

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (fan-forced) or 200°C (conventional).
  • Place the wheel of Brie on a small baking tray or ovenproof serving dish lined with baking paper.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the centre feels soft and gooey when gently pressed.
  • While the Brie is baking, toast the walnuts in a dry frying pan over medium heat for 2–3 minutes, shaking the pan frequently until golden and fragrant.
  • Carefully transfer the warm Brie to a serving plate (or leave it in the baking dish if it looks good enough to serve).
  • Top with the fresh figs, toasted walnuts, a drizzle of honey, and sprigs of thyme.
  • Serve immediately with crackers or crusty bread.
