Potato Bake (Cheats Dauphinoise Potatoes)
Ingredients
- 1 cup cream
- 3 large potatoes thinly sliced
- ½ brown onion thinly sliced
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare Potatoes and Onion: Slice the peeled potatoes and onions thinly with a mandolin.
- Assemble the Layers: Pour a tablespoon of the cream mixture over the bottom of the baking dish, then a single layer of potatoes, then a few onion rings and a tiny sprinkle of salt and then pour over some cream.
- Repeat Layers: Until all potatoes, onions and cream are finished.
- Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Then, remove the foil and sprinkle the cheese and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
- Serve: Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then serve this creamy delight alongside your favourite main dish.
