There is no drink that reminds me quite so much of summer as an Aperol Spritz. The first one of the summer is such a delight and a sign of good things to come.
Aperol is made with a secret blend of herbs and fruits, including bitter orange, gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona and the Aperol spritz is the most famous and popular way to enjoy Aperol.
If you’re looking for a refreshing and easy-drinking cocktail to enjoy on a sunny day, you can’t go wrong with this. This classic Italian drink is made with prosecco, aperol, and soda water and has a bright orange colour and a bittersweet taste that will quench your thirst and have you coming back for seconds….and thirds.
We use the 3:2:1 ratio, 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts aperol and 1 part soda water over ice, but you can customize it according to your taste. On a super hot day I’ll have more soda, if I’m craving the bitterness I’ll bump up the Aperol. Use some fresh orange to garnish and you are ready to go, blood oranges are also nice and look fabulous too.
