Why make Tuna Tataki? We love Japanese food in my house, it’s my son’s all time favourite cuisine and has been since he was really little. So much so that when we go out for Sushi I have to rein him in on his gold plate choice otherwise it costs us a fortune! If I am not paying attention his meal can easily end up costing more than my husband’s and mine joint! To avoid this we have had to implement a two gold plate limit, so we can continue our sushi habit without re mortgaging the house.
There is something about Japanese flavours that really resonate with him. Maybe its the perfect balance of sweet, salty, sour, bitter and umami, or the freshest of fresh fish but if I fed him Japanese every night for dinner I would get zero complaints.
That is why this easy Tuna Tataki Recipe is on regular rotation at my house. It is quick, foolproof, delicious and has all those classic Japanese flavours that my son adores.
