They are also really versatile, you can serve them as a finger food at a party, or make them a meal by serving a delicious side of Quick and Easy Fried Rice (pictured below). This recipe is for baked chicken wings but you could also cook these Sticky Honey Soy Wings on the BBQ or grill after the marinating process.

The other great thing about these Asian-inspired chicken wings is that they are super budget friendly! Chicken wings are about $6.50 per kilo in the supermarket at the moment so you can feed a family or a crowd for very little. Aside from the chicken wings all you need is a few other ingredients that you probably have in the cupboard already.

Sticky and Delicious: Honey Soy Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 1½ tbsp honey
- ⅓ cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 garlic cloves grated or minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 kilo chicken wings
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp green onions thinly sliced
Instructions
- Start with the marinade. Combine honey, soy, ginger, garlic and sesame oil in a bowl and stir until combined.
- Place chicken wings in a zip lock bag and then pour over the marinade. Close the zip lock, letting the air out of the bag and then gently massage the marinade into the wings.
- Put the bag into the fridge to let the marinade flavours develop for at least two hours and up to 24 hours for best results.
- When you are ready to cook, preheat a fan forced oven to 180℃.
- Place the chicken wings and the marinade on an oven tray lined with baking paper.
- Place the tray in the oven and cook for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes is up take the tray out of the oven and turn the chicken wings once with tongs, place back in the oven for a further 10 minutes.
- Take wings out of the oven after 10 minutes, turn again and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Return to the oven for 10 minutes. (total cooking time for wings = 40 minutes).
- After 10 minutes remove wings from the oven and allow them to rest on the tray for 5 minutes before serving on a platter sprinkled with green onions.
